May 1, 2010
Dear Doctors Hampel and Johnson,
I am writing to you, as two of the leading veterinarians in the country,
to bring to your attention an important development in veterinary medicine
which I am certain will be of interest to you: a dog sterilization pill.
The development I’m writing about can help address a problem which costs American taxpayers and private citizens almost $2 billion each year; a problem which also causes the needless deaths of millions of man’s best friends, dogs … as well as cats.
Bottom line: The dog sterilization pill described below is without question, the most viable solution to the U.S. and global dog overpopulation problem, I have ever seen in my entire professional career in veterinary medicine, and as such I believe it warrants full attention.
I travel extensively internationally and as such am often difficult to reach, which is why I invite you to also follow up on this matter by contacting Mr. Alex Pacheco by phone at 954 464 9331, or by email at AlexPacheco2005@yahoo.com - website Pills For Pets.com. He is available to answer questions and provide you with complete information.
My background is as follows: My name is Dr. Jeffrey Young and I have been a veterinarian for over twenty years. In 2000 I founded the non profit Planned Pethood International for the purpose of reducing animal overpopulation through safe and efficient sterilization techniques.
I have trained over 300 veterinarians in advanced surgical techniques, and have performed over 165,000 animal surgeries. I have established full service training animal hospitals in Europe and Mexico, have served as a member of the board of directors of numerous humane societies; I speak and consult on companion animal overpopulation issues all over the world.
I have just reviewed significant research data forwarded to me by the non profit charity 600 Million Stray Dogs Need You. I have recently joined the Scientific Advisory Board of this charity, on an entirely volunteer basis.
In lay terms, this product is in the form of a pill and is referred to as a Dog Sterilization Pill, or DSP. The data shows that the sterilization pill is designed to safely produce sterilization in female dogs.
Before proceeding, I would like to make it clear that there is no conflict of interest in my making these statements, and that I have no vested interest in this product, financial or otherwise. I have no connection with the scientists who discovered this product and I am receiving no compensation and no consideration in any way, shape or form, for making these statements.
As an independent degreed professional with many years of experience in clinical veterinary medical and surgical practice, it is my professional and scientific opinion that the evidence shows that this dog sterilization pill, still in development but nearing completion, is safe, effective and is without question the most viable solution to the global dog overpopulation I have ever seen.
It is also consistent with the following criteria:
The active ingredient has been studied and tested on different species for over 20 years.
The dog sterilization pill has no known side effects.
Evidence indicates it will not work on humans and does not pose a threat to people or non-targeted animals.
DSP ingredients are quickly neutralized after reaching their targeted organs and are quickly eliminated by the dog’s body through natural means.
Furthermore, ingredients are rapidly broken down outside the dog’s body and do not pollute the environment.
Additional longitudinal studies are continuing, and continue to confirm, that the use of the DSP in dogs is safe and effective with no additional or increased risk overtime.
The evidence leads me to believe that the development of this pill presents not only a viable and humane solution to the problem of dog overpopulation, but it may also save human lives.
For example, the United Nations reports that over 50,000 people die of rabies each year around the world, and that the majority of those deaths are a result of people being bitten by rabid, overpopulated stray dogs.
A number of my colleagues in veterinary medicine have also reviewed the scientific data and have thus far all reached the same or similar conclusions. They are also preparing communications attesting to these findings.
I have every reason to believe that reasonable and scientifically trained professionals who examine the research data will reach the same or similar conclusions.
I will be happy to share this research data with you. Because the data concerns the development of a new product, certain aspects of which are proprietary, and because the data is currently undergoing additional review, during this period and for the next several months the data is available on a confidential basis only, after which the data will be made available to the general public.
I would also like to call to your attention a communication entitled “Dog Sterilization Pill, Overview” by the charity 600 Million Stray Dogs Need You, a copy of which I have inserted into the end of this letter, along with a brief bio on the coordinator of this effort, Alex Pacheco.
The Overview helps put the sterilization pill in perspective and points out that the pill has the potential to be modified so that it might also work on cats, and that an estimated $2 billion tax and private dollars are spent each year attempting to deal with the dog and cat overpopulation in the U.S. alone.
Based on the data, for the first time in my career I now believe that this expensive problem, though probably not completely solvable, appears to now be significantly solvable, with pills.
I appreciate your time, as well as encourage you to seriously look into this.
Respectfully,
Jeff Young, D.V.M.

From 600 Million Stray Dogs Need You:
Dog Sterilization Pill
Overview - April 10, 2010
For the hundreds of millions of stray and diseased dogs who will never receive expensive surgical sterilization, a new sterilization pill is being developed which should finally allow us to end the dog overpopulation problem -- without surgery, without capturing the animals and without euthanasia.
The non profit charity 600 Million Stray Dogs Need Youis dedicated to finishing the development of the pill, and to ensuring it is widely distributed and kept affordable for animals in need.
The Solution: This new pill for dogs is a breakthrough product and a cat version will be developed as soon as funds are available.
Once approved, this non-surgical form of birth control for dogs can bring an end to the number one problem faced by virtually all humane societies, animal rescue organizations, city pounds and county animal control agencies around the world: far more stray dogs than there are homes for them.
The New Era for Animal Welfare: For the first time in history, there will be a safe and affordable alternative to expensive and time-consuming sterilization surgery.
In a short span of time, large populations of stray dogs can be affordably, humanely and dramatically reduced.
Considering the fact that the number two cause of animal suffering and death in the world is animal overpopulation, once approved and distributed, this pill can create the single largest reduction of animal suffering in history.
The financial savings realized by humane societies and rescue groups are likely to be unprecedented.
The reduction in the use of euthanasia is likely to be unprecedented and the bitter friction between animal welfare groups over euthanasia and no-kill policies, can end.
First, we must pay the costs of having this humane product approved by the FDA (an estimated $5 million per year for six years), as well as by regulatory agencies of other countries.
The good news is that this is one-time financing.
To expedite the process: We are seeking business partnerships and have begun to interview potential partners.
To underwrite the costs, exclusive sponsorships and sub licensing rights will be available on along term global basis and inquiries are welcome.
Once approved, country by country, the pill can be used to begin to break the cycle of suffering for the estimated 600 million stray dogs around the world.
Over 60 nations have little to no laws against cruelty to animals, and brutal mass killings of 30,000 to 50,000 street dogs have taken place to control the stray populations in locations such as Beijing, Athens and Rio de Janeiro.
Dogs are beaten to death, hanged, strangled, poisoned, electrocuted, and thrown off bridges.
In the U.S., an estimated four to six million overpopulated dogs are euthanized every year.
The Cycle of Suffering: The world’s estimated 600 million stray dogs can reproduce as often as twice a year, producing over one billion stray pups - who can begin giving birth by six months of age.
Despite mass killings and an average life span of only three years, the worldwide population of stray dogs is expanding largely because they live on a diet of human garbage, and as the human population grows, so does the dog's food source: garbage.
Until now, there has been no end in sight to this cycle of needless suffering.
The Financial Consequences: Working on the problem of pet overpopulation are an estimated 5,000 humane societies in the U.S. with an estimated 10,000 animal groups globally. The U.S. humane community began over 100 years ago and collectively the U.S. spends approximately two billion tax and private dollars annually on trying to control and deal with the consequences of dog and cat overpopulation.
Not only have such expenditures not resolved the problem, they must be repeated each year.
The Human Benefit: This pill is expected to help prevent the deaths of up to 55,000 people each year, most of whom die painful deaths from rabies after being bitten by rabid stray dogs (according to the World Health Organization).
The News for Cats: Early evidence indicates that a modified version of the pill can be effective on cats, work which we must also finance. In the meantime, the pill will indirectly benefit cats as humane societies around the world should find their resources liberated to a greater extent than ever before.
U.S. organizations should be able to amplify the time and effort they put into helping the estimated 82 million homeless cats in the U.S.
In addition to cats, we have reason to believe this product may have the potential to be modified to work on additional species.*
The Poor and Under Served: Often when products like this are marketed, they are priced as high as the market will bear.
As a result, those living in low-income communities and the poorest of the world are left out.
Not this time.
From the start our priority is to put our efforts where the need is greatest and on a non profit basis in order to end the global cycle of suffering endured by man's best friend.
We invite you to join us in being a positive and uplifting part, of history in the making. There are many ways each of us can help.

Founder, 600 Million Stray Dogs Need You.
Co Founder and Chairman for 20 years of the world's largest animal rights organization, PETA. $35 million in current annual revenue, two million members. Led the lobbyists, lawyers, investigators and fundraisers for PETA, described by the New York Times as the "mover and shaker" of the thousands of organizations in the animal protection community.
Served as the lead undercover investigator and legal tactician before leaving in 2000, successfully out maneuvering a long list of adversarial Cabinet level federal agencies (USDA, NIH, NASA, etc.) and many of the nation's largest corporations - winning many landmark cases for the animal protection community.
Precedents include the first police raid of an animal research facility; the first confiscation of animals from a biomedical laboratory, the first arrest, prosecution and criminal conviction of a biomedical scientist on charges of cruelty to animals; the first, second and third terminations of federal research grants due to cruelty to animals; the first forced closing of a U.S. Pentagon animal laboratory and the closing of the world's largest horse slaughtering company.
Additional successful campaigns include forcing dozens of major corporations to end various inhumane practices regarding animals, including General Motors (at the time the world's largest corporation), Texaco, Exxon, Mobil Oil, L'Oreal, Avon, Revlon, Amway, Benetton and others.
Planned and executed landmark investigative work inside a federally funded research facility, producing a case cited (by film director Oliver Stone and many others) as the case that launched the U.S. animal rights movement: The Silver Spring Monkeys.
Spanning 15 years it was heard before the U.S. Supreme Court twice, involved hundreds of members of Congress, over 55 U.S. Senators and led to congressional hearings and the passage of federal animal protection legislation.
Pacheco was the undercover investigator and directed the lobbying and litigation throughout the 15 year project, leading to a Harvard University study on how to defeat the animal protection movement, commissioned by the American Medical Association, which described Pacheco as a folk hero.
Started PETA with no funding, no college degree, no staff, no experience and played a key role in building the organization from scratch to the point where you can mail an envelope from anywhere in the U.S., with nothing more than PETA written on it, and it will still be delivered.
